The dedication service for the new headstone for Second Lieutenant Sam Hughes, of the 10th Welsh, was held in France this week. I came across Sam’s grave, to an Unknown Welsh Regiment Second Lieutenant, some ten years ago, and it has taken this long to get him through the system and have a named headstone on his grave. Whilst verifying my research, the MOD ‘War Detectives’ team identified the grave besides his as a fellow soldier of the 10th Welsh.
